Goodness. Its busy times for us here at Pomeroy's.
I can see how it potentially doesn't look like that as the doors to our elusive cafe remain firmly shut but rest assured, we're working bloody hard to open them.
Like all good things, they take time and we are just about over the finish line, we're crossing t's, dotting i's, planning menus and keeping our fingers crossed. Throughout all of this process one thing that comes to mind that we've been lacking a little of...
Our events! because we've been all hands on deck trying to get Little Pom's trading, its taken away from what we normally like to do at Pomeroy's. We've had a tonne of great ideas planned but because nothing is certain, we've avoided planning too much as no one likes disappointment! Fear not, we will be getting straight back into things shortly.
In the meantime, we promise to keep serving brilliant meals and top notch craft beer. We've got a few new releases coming up, some great things from the US as well as a continued selection of the best NZ has to offer.

Just a quick note to let you all know about TapHunter. Its this clever website / phone app that tells you exactly what we have on tap! It also tells you what we have lined up in the chiller too. Genius.

So if you have a smart phone, head on over to your APP store and download it, follow us and be kept up to date with allll the beer news.

Neat Places, an amazing voice for the local 'cool spots' in Christchurch, put a piece up on Pom's Pub which we thought was both 'on point' and definitely worth sharing. "The delicious atypical pub fare (definitely try the homemade cheese fondue), fine selection of beers, fresh flowers, stained glass lamps and cosy leather couches make this place pretty darn special. Wait until you see the little nooks you can hide away in not to mention the library." is one excerpt from the Neat Places team and Naomi Haussman behind the lens. Read the full story here and you can also learn of some other great finds in Chch.

Times are a changin'...

Our monthly quiz is taking a wee sabatical over winter and should be returning later... Bigger and better than ever!

Not that we're going to make big promises but it could be in a smaller, cozier venue.

Thanks to all that have supported us over the many years, its been a fun x

The week that we've been furiously prepping for is finally here and to add a little more to the craziness, NZ are cricket champs!

Kicking off, we have Beer without Borders with us Thursday for a Sour beer tasting. 6 beer line up and the selection is pretty damn special.

Next up is Garage Project Dinner. If you don't have a ticket, you've missed out as I just tried to matchings and not that I want to go on but they are AMMMMMMMAAAAAZZING.

Then we have the best and biggest festival, The Great Kiwi Beer Fest! We are as usual running the seminar tent and as well as that, have our very own bar that'll be pouring Beer Baroness, Four Aves, Pink Boots Unite Red & Bodgie golden ale. Please come and say hi if you have a moment.

Also, not that we want to jinx it but Sunday could be a final...

We are so damn excited about this month!

Firstly, we have two tasting events:

The Beer without Borders Sour tasting on Thurs 26 see all details here. This is the first of its kind (both hosted in brewery but more importantly, hosted by our friends at Beer without Borders) and I can report that we have reached the halfway mark in ticket sales so to avoid missing out, ring the pub now!

Garage Project Beer Dinner on Fri 27 - there are a mere 10 tickets left for this one and I would realllly reccomend getting one as I've seen some of the matches and they are AMAZING. Details here

After those two tastings, we will be off to The Great Kiwi Beer Festival!!!!! This year we've been asked back to run the Pomeroy's Craft Beer Academy which is super fun and as always, we have a stellar line up of speakers!!!!

For the full list head on over to The Great Kiwi Beer Fest website

As well as the Academy, we will have The Beer Baroness & Four Avenues bar! We will be pouring most of both ranges as well as a special guest and the new International Women's Collaborative Brewday beer, Unite Red Ale. Unite Red Ale is getting brewed down at Three Boys this week with all profits going to Pink Boots NZ & Chch Women's Refuge.

Lots happening, Cheers!

I'm sitting at the bar in a busy, bustling little pub giving a silent nod to where we were four years ago...

Its a pleasure to be part of such a sensational city and we hope whereever you are today, you're surrounding yourselves with love, family, friends, laughter and great beer!
